What We Do

Our Focus

Community Advance Project is a registered Charity working to engage and support communities, particularly vulnerable or marginalised communities. We work across London with all Communities, however our primary focus is East and North London, BME and Refugee communities. CAP is both a frontline and a second tier support organisation.

Organisational Support

Bespoke organisational development training to organisations on key issues faced by the individual organisation.

Some organisations we have supported:
Caribbean Heritage Centre 2000 Ltd
Somali welfare centre
Sahil Housing Association
Innovation Vision Organisation
Carila Latin American Welfare Group
Working Chance
Somali Human Hope
Alevi Cultural Centre
Ackee Housing Project
Refugee Workers Cultural association
Black Women in the Arts

Social Issue Videos

Community Advance Project produces DVDs on social issues of concern to our communities. The DVDs have education and campaigning functions.

The DVDs inform viewers from diverse range of backgrounds about the issues facing certain communities. In some cases the communities themselves have the ability to effect social change.

We also aim to influence better services by lobbying decision makers and service providers to listen to the people voicing their concerns and re-examine how issues are being addressed.

Community Development

Community Advance Project is not a single issue organisation. We were formed to provide a range of services that meets the various needs of our communities. We pride ourselves in being flexible and mobile enough to respond to needs where they arise and where we can have an impact to make a positive difference to our communities.

CAP only works on projects as the need arises for specific projects, spending as little as possible on core costs. We have expertise and infrastructure ready to initiate and deliver projects in many areas beneficial to communities.

Our
Programs

These are a few of our programs. We work with a variety of communities and multiple partners to develop programmes that are beneficial to our communities and have a real impact on the lives of individuals and community organisations.
